I'm doing a little better with this whole inking with a brush thing.  The only problem now is I think I have the wrong type of brush.  It doesn't hold enough ink, or get a good point.  But it's alright.  I'll have to upload some new commissions I've done since I'm uploading my portfolio.  Hopefully in the next couple of weeks.  But first I have to get the book off to the printer.  I'm waiting on the lettering at the moment.

A week or so ago I finally beat Halo on XBOX.  Talk about a getting your money's worth out of a game!  Two years after it's debut we're still getting together for Halo parties.  I can't wait for Halo 2.  Too bad they keep putting it off.

Well, off to do more work.

There are two little kids in my neighborhood who keep going over to my neighbors house just about every day.  Even when they're told not to come over...or come in...they keep trying.  Apparently, their parents don't teach them not to bug the crap out of people.  I think they're scared of me.  I guess because I don't talk to them.  The reason I don't is because I know if I do they'll keep pestering ME if I do.  The young girl has been known to just walk in people's houses.  I don't feel like fostering that nuisance.

I'd just as soon make them think I'm the mean guy at the end of the street.

  Happy Post Tax Day!

Did you file yours or are you cheating the IRS?

Today the sun was out.  All day.  Apparently it shines, as a rule, for about 12 hours or so.  I had been convinced it only came out at lunchtime and then for 15 minutes as I was driving home from work.  But as it turns out, it's still been in the sky this whole time.  Eh, go figure.

This week I finally figured out how to ink with a brush.   I had one of those rare ah-ha! moments.  I've only got three more pages and a cover to do before the first issue gets sent off to the printers.  Also, GravyBoy will soon be a regularly updated strip here at the site.  The storyline will be different than the comic in the sense that the strip will be more character development and general tom-foolery.  That's "great taste and less filling" in beer terms.

I have no idea what I'm talking about.

I have also learned that when you don't go to a job everyday, you tend to get really busy.  I guess I'm finally getting to the things I've been putting of for the last five years.

I uploaded some pictures to the Characters page.  The Character bios aren't up yet, but there are pretty pictures.  I'm having trouble getting the tables to come out right.  I hate tables.  Tables suck.

All this tweaking will have to wait until tomorrow though.  I've got some paying freelance design that pays actual money waiting for me...and later my friend Chris and I will make a run to Krispy Kreme and harass truckers on his CB.

More about that later, I guess.

Okay, I've officially archived all my old blogs for the first time this year.  They're found here.

I think that I'm going to hold off on uploading any more pages.  Why?  Because the book is coming out in 2 months, and I want people to buy it.  Stop your whining, blame capitalism, and go buy a t-shirt.

Oh, and I was recently asked where the comments go.  You know, that neat little option below each blog that lets you respond to my mindless rantings?  Well, contrary to popular thought, they do not go into the abyss.  They come into my email.  Which isn't fun, because people should be able to leave comments for all the world to enjoy...so soon I'm going to fix that, and comments will be able to be viewed by all.

I'm in the process of reorganizing and archiving my old blogs.  This may take a few days.  Until I'm done you'll have to settle with what I write in the meantime, as if that's anything worth settling for.

You would think that I would be out of work stories. Especially since I've quit. Well, I was hoping to get through the day without a call from my former place of mediocre employment, but alas, it's not my lot.

I think I've had four calls. There's one guy who has been thrust into doing my old job. He doesn't know anything about it. So I have to hold his hand over the phone while he burns CDs.

Maybe what I did was more complicated than I thought. Maybe I'm just really smart.

That's what I'm going to keep telling myself.

I'm getting ready for the guys to come over and play Halo tonight in celebration of my current lack of employment.

Boy, that sounds weird. But in this case my unemployment is a good thing.

I saw a company van from the place formerly known as work today and instinctively hissed at it. They still haunt me.

Next week I start hitting the paper to finish up the first issue of the comic.

Good Times.
