Don't forget the preview of Issue 1!

 

I was thinking about how I rarely post any of my sketches on here.  So I think I'll try to start doing that regularly. 

 

When I was a kid, I watched Starblazers religiously.  (Or Space Battleship Yamato, for all you die hard fans out there.)  Recently I went on a Starblazers kick while sketching. 

 

The first sketch in my Starblazers series is Captain Avatar...

 

 

Anybody remember the doctor on that cartoon always drinking his "spring water".  Way to shield the youth of America from the harsh reality...that Dr. Sane was a blind, raging drunk.   Poor Captain Avatar.  If only he had picked a better Dr, he might have made it to the Comet Empire.

 

Oh well.

Don't forget the preview of Issue 1!

 

In case you haven't noticed, the site is a bit different.  That's right, I'm finally getting around to that redesign.  I haven't made it through to every page yet, so be patient.  I'll be tweaking it little by little.

 

I'd also like to point out at the left hand side of your screen, just below the banner logo, there's a handy-dandy link to a new blog archive.  Now the front page won't be 17 miles long when it loads.  

 

Here in NC we're waiting on a snow/ice storm to plunder its way through.  Lord willing, we won't lose power as we are prone to do.  But just in case, I've got a stack of firewood on the porch and plenty of bread and milk...you know...for when we want...um...milk sandwiches.

 

And for those of you interested in Issue 1, we're still waiting.  Any day now it should be in.  I've already started on issue two, but it's hard to say when it'll be out, especially since we're not used to this printer and don't have a feel for an average turnaround time.  So keep checking back.  And if you've got time to kill, feel free to contribute to the nonsense that is the GravyBoard.

Don't forget the preview of Issue 1!

 

1)  We're still waiting on our printer for issue 1.

 

2)  In one month we'll be heading down to Orlando FL for Megacon.  So if you're there stop by and say hello!  Or, if you prefer, buy us dinner.  We're poor...and we like food.

 

3) Have you seen the Fantastic Four trailer?  If follows the typical action movie trailer formula by substituting explosions and mayhem for anything that might actually show whether or not the movie is going to be any good.  I hope so.  It can't be worse than the Hulk, I suppose.  But that's just my opinion.

 

4)  It just looks like there should be a number four here.  Because three doesn't seem like quite enough.

Don't forget the preview of Issue 1!

 

 Well, the fiasco with the message board certainly was a pain.  Apparently we were attacked by a worm...or something.  I blame Gamera.

 

Issue 1 is still at the printer, there is apparently a short delay in them getting to it...but it should be here soon.  I hope.  In other news, next month Marty and I will be in Orlando, Florida at Megacon.  So if you're going to be there, stop by and say hi.  We'll be at the GravyBoy table...as indicated by the banner that says "GravyBoy."   So as long as you're literate, you should be able to find us with no problem.
