People seem really seem to be on a pirates kick these days. Are people into pirates because they like the Pirates of the Caribbean movies or do people like the Pirates of the Caribbean movies because they're into pirates? It's a question that is sure to be debated for generations to come. I have always thought pirates were pretty cool, myself. They are one of those bad guys that you like to pull for.....kind of like Pat Sajak.

I really enjoyed the first Pirates movie. Only a few more weeks before number two is available on DVD. I recently did this charcoal portrait of Captain Jack Sparrow. It seems to have gotten a much stronger response than anything else I have shown so far. My conclusion.....people dig the pirates.

I would agree with both conclusions. Everybody liked that one at the Con.
